Innsbruck, a city with mountains as the backdrop.

The old town of Innsbruck has 800 years of history.

The Hapsburg Family was central to this town. This is the interior of the Imperial Palace.

I took a walking tour of the city. The tour guide, in traditional dress, was enthusiastic and very knowledgeable. Her family dates back centuries and owns of the Bell Foundry and Museum.

The mountains are so close that the entrance to the funicular going up the mountain is right beside the Imperial Palace.

A view of Innsbruck from the top of the funicular. You can just barely see the river Inn in the lower right.

Innsbruck is beautiful from many angles. This was taken from a bridge of the river Inn.
