My favorite poem of all time Janice. I heard my father recite it to me as a young child. Funny I should sign on and see this post, as I was just having dinner with my daughter and we were discussing my new home based travel consultant position and trying to come up with a name for my facebook page promoting travel. She recited this poem from memory, as we tossed around ideas. Two Roads Travel was one thought-- maybe your post is speaking directly to me... ;)

Going to places like these means a lot because it would happen once in a lifetime.
Taking pictures are such a remarkable memory catcher to have.

So very true. I have learnt a lot about myself while travelling on my own although when I see something beautiful, I tend to want to have someone nearby to share it with...

Travelling solo encourages you to experience what YOU want to do instead of always considering what your travel partner wants to do. It's liberating, nerve-wracking and confidence building...all in one :-) But I love it...mostly :-)

That is a very comprehensive guide to a nice walking tour and I might follow your footsteps part of the way (not in a stalking type of way of course). I am looking at offers for

<a href="http://www.dertour.co.uk/city-breaks/munich-city-break" rel="nofollow"> Munich city
breaks </a>

for a solo traveller and walking is what I am most going to be doing.

I think another great idea is to try to prevent being in situations when you would need to scream. In other words, avoid walking alone at night in dark alleys, etc.
