Solo Travel to New Zealand – 10 #Blog4NZ posts

Screen shot 2011 03 17 at 10.29.04 PM Solo Travel to New Zealand 10 #Blog4NZ postsEarthquakes have been hitting hard in the last year. Top of mind are Haiti, Chile, New Zealand and most recently Japan.

The human toll of earthquakes has been significant and so sad. From a distance it’s also frustrating as, other than making donations, there is little that one can do.

There is an economic toll as well. Fortunately, when the timing is right travelers can help. This week, travel bloggers all over the world are collaborating to support New Zealand after the Christchurch earthquake – the message: the country is ready to receive visitors.

Not ever having been to NZ, I can’t give you a story with my own photos and experiences. However, there have been dozens of posts published on New Zealand already so I sifted through the list to share a few of my faves.

Love your work Solo Traveler. Great to see the support for Blog for NZ. Things really are great down here in the South Island, that is if you were lucky enough not to be directly effected by the Earthquake. The rest of the country is open and stable and these blogs show what there is on offer. Come visit we would love to have you. check out http://inappropriatemag.blogspot.com/ for a few good NZ travel reads

I have never been to New Zealand either and did not directly participate in the event with my blog, but adding links to a post is a good way to join in. I have been doing my small part by tweeting the ones that I come across as I will with this one.

Apparently New Zealand is a photographers and cinematographers dream! I can see why from all the films and documentaries that have been filmed there, most notably the Lord of the Rings trilogy. Although there is no perfect paradise, earthquake or not it is on my destination list.
2 acquaintances left our city to live in this beautiful country – the photos on the blogs speak to why.

Great to see the support here for New Zealand. Friends we stayed with have a daughter at Uni in Christchurch and she has had to leave temporarily whilst new accom is found.

A link to an article on QT site – so love NZ!
