An Introduction to Jordan in Photos
I don’t know where to start.
After 7 fabulous days in Jordan I have so many photos to share, stories to tell and video to show that, truly, it’s hard to know where to start.
So as not to overwhelm you, I’ll begin by giving you just a glimpse at my photo album. You will get details on Petra, Wadi Rum, Jerash, Mount Nebo and more over the next few weeks. This is simply an introduction to Jordan.

Hadrian's Gate, the south entrance to the ancient Roman city in Jerash. I've seen Roman ruins many places - in Germany, Spain, Rome of course and Pompei, but this city is exceptional.

12th Century Ayyubid castle at Ajlun

Marina Plaza Hotel, a resort on the Red Sea near Aqaba. (It's been awarded the Green Key, an internationally recognized eco label for tourism.)

Smoking a Sheesha in a coffee shop in Aqaba. (I have video of me doing it too. So much more to share with you.)

Madaba: section of 6th century mosaic map of Jerusalem and the Holy Land that was uncovered when building a Greek Orthodox Church in 1896. The map is on the floor.
I’ll be sharing a post a week about Jordan for the next month. I hope you enjoy reading about the country as much as I enjoyed visiting.
Thanks to Jordan Tourism for making this trip possible and to my incredible guide Mahmoud. You can find him in the Lonely Planet Guide on Jordan.
