Everything Fantastical Bombastical

One of the wonderful character’s I’ve met traveling solo. His lesson: appreciate your average day.

“Everything is possible. Fantastic. Bombastic…”

These were the wonderful words and exuberant attitude of Mr. Bombastic (as some know him) of Rishikesh, India.

His enthusiasm for life is contagious. I’m not the first to video him and put him on Youtube.

Listen to his words. He’s talking about the mundane details of life. “I went for a run. I’ll have a puja. I’ll clean my room…” It’s impossible to understand all that he says but, essentially, he’s listing all that he happily does in a typical day.

We learn from the characters we meet in our travels. And traveling solo we tend to meet more interesting people than if we were with others. Traveling solo, we’re not focused on a companion, caught up in their needs and conversation with them. No, we’re following our interests, pausing to engage with interesting people who are eager to engage with us. They may do so because they want us to enjoy their city or just for the joy of meeting people from elsewhere or even perhaps because they want to ensure that we are safe.

Below are links to stories about some of the more interesting people I’ve met on my travels. Here is Mr. Bombastic…
