Pic of the Week: The Beauty of Silence

This isolated beach at dusk near Tofino on Vancouver Island was beautiful and, other than the sound of the ocean, silent.

The post that goes along with this picture is

Travel Solo in Silence… at least some of the time.

This post offers a video of John Francis who lived silent for 17 years.
His commentary on the value of living in silence is wonderful. Well worth a view.

I cannot believe that we didn’t make it to Tofino when we lived in Vancouver for 3 years! We were young and not the smartest about going out and exploring our surroundings. At least we are making up for that now:)
    Lovely photo

there is something that happens to your mind when you see vistas such as this.
    it expands and becomes creative….
hmmmm sitting in that box all day 5 days a week really cramps a brain.

This was simply taken with my point and shoot camera. Sometimes you’re in the right place at the right time to get a great shot.

Great picture, it captures the moment in between the hustle and bustle of day and the cool and calm of night. What lens and ISO did you use to capture the subtle pink hints in the clouds?

Wow, amazing. I love the silence whem I’m away alone. A part of the fav moment of solo travel. I love to talk and meet people all the time, but in a beautiful place, just thinking all sort of things or sometimes no think at all, that’s really good.
I think we can grow up with the silence moments. I know I have. :)
    Thanks for sharing!
