Reasons to go:  Cabo San Lucas is such a popular tourist destination that you feel like you’re in a foreign place but at the same time, as an American, you’re surrounded by familiar things.

The pace is calming and leisurely. The people are friendly and willing to help. It is easy to pick up a conversation with locals.

I found Cabo San Lucas a great place to travel solo. I never felt unsafe. I walked to multiple places alone, as well as taking taxis, and had no problems at all. Eating in the restaurants off the beach was great because the staff respect your privacy but at the same time will talk with you and make you feel comfortable enough to not feel completely alone. It just seemed like they knew when to approach you and when not to.

I often walked around the Marina by myself and always seemed to leave knowing 2 or 3 new people. The locals from Cabo definitely make you feel welcome and are just as interested to hear about you as you are to hear about them. I never felt alone. I count it as one of my most treasured vacations.

They also have a nice selection of museums, restaurants, night clubs and nearby places for excursions and activities. English is spoken frequently and well. They have some of the same conveniences as the US such as Walmart, Costco and Burger King. It’s a melting pot of cultures and everyone seems content to be there whether they are just visiting or locals.

I’ve been there twice and the first time was a resort. A friend and I always go on sites like VRBO or Homeaway.com to find 4-5 start resorts to stay. But when I went on my solo trip I stayed in the Marina Cabo Plaza condos and I loved it. Here’s the link for where I stayed…
http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p103943. Staff was friendly, I enjoyed my living arrangements and I had a great view of the marina. It’s $400 for the week.

Thanks so much for having me as your solo travel guest! I feel just as special as Cabo feels to me. I’ll answer any questions anyone may have about traveling in Cabo. I don’t know everything about it but I can give my perspective of it. It’s a great place to solo travel to!
