Solo travel rating: 2 (1 is easiest, 4 is most difficult. Please see chart below)
Languages spoken: Cambodian, Vietnamese, English
Reasons to go: Kep is a seaside resort town at the southern end of Cambodia, very close to the border with Vietnam. Vietnamese tour buses stop at the oceanfront parks for restrooms and food on a daily basis, but they don’t get in the way.
Kep reminds me of Kona, Hawaii many years ago – a sleepy fishing village with a definite tourist “season” and quiet the rest of the time.
Walking the seawall through town to the restaurants offering fresh crab is a daily pleasure. Prices are low, people friendly, smiles on most faces. A safe and relaxing destination for solo travelers.
Solo Travel Destination Rating System

Culture – 2 (1 Similar to North America or Western Europe, 2 Different from above but relaxed and easy, 3 Challenging)
