Reasons to go: Macau has a very interesting history to explore. I found it safe for a first-time solo traveler like me. It has a well-established public transport network. Their bus guides/routes posted on their bus stops are very easy to understand.
The mixing of the Chinese and Portuguese cultures and religious traditions for more than four centuries has left Macau with an inimitable collection of holidays, festivals and events. One should visit historical places like Ruins of St. Paul’s, A-Ma Temple & some old churches.
There are many unique dishes resulted from the spice blends of Portuguese & Chinese cuisine. Their street foods located around Senado Square (San Ma Lo) were my favorite.
Macau preserves many historical properties in the urban areas. If you are adventurous enough, you can try the highest bungee jumping from the 338 metre tall Macau Tower, or you can just watch bungee jumpers & explore the beautiful scenery at the top of the Tower.
Your travel in Macau wouldn’t be complete if you did not try the gondola ride at the Venetian Macau. And since Macau is considered to be Las Vegas in Asia, you may also want to try your luck at their famous casinos. There are a whole lot of marvelous places & activities for travelers in Macau. My 2-day trip was not enough: I’m definitely going to visit Macau again!
