Delighted, but not surprised to hear that the English Lake District wove its charm around you.

As you say, for a first time visit walking the fells in damp conditions and still loving it, speaks volumes!

I would be interested to know if you were ever nervous of being on your own, for instance if you had sustained an ankle injury and then the weather had worsened?

I’m not trying to be a wet blanket, far from it, but I know that parts of the Cumbrian fells are out of mobile signal.

I look forward to reading more of your inspriational posts…

I love the Lake district and feel quite lucky that it only a short journey from where I live. We go camping there once or twice a year, to an area called Great Langdale at a National trust campsite.

Great for walking and of course the traditional roast dinner in the pub

I enjoyed so much your post. I love walking, it helps me finding the inner peace, and I guess the Lake district is perfectly fitting with detox – whether digital or else.
Definitely I’ll have to consider the Lake district as one of my next trips!

Try the pub Mason Arms in Strawberry, you’ll love it. Glad you got some good hikes, I was so surprised to see it was ferns that made those hills so green. That rain thing….
