Solo Traveler Fave Five: December

Chile is the trip I'm planning at the moment.

New on Solo Traveler
This year on Solo Traveler I’m adding a new dimension to the blog: monthly themes. You’ll still have the travel stories, photos and tips you’d expect but each month there will be a number of posts on a particularly theme. In January we’ll start with trip planning – seems appropriate. You can expect:

  • Holiday trip planning based on my trip to Chile.
  • Career break and long term trip planning.
  • Gear: How to buy the best travel camera.
  • Money, documents, insurance…
  • Tours, cruises and group trip planning.

Next month is February. What else could the theme be but Romance on the Road.

Fave Five in December
In case you missed them, here the are five most read posts on Solo Traveler last month.

2nd Annual Stop & Stare Photo Contest
It’s over now but it was a huge success with over 7000 people either submitting photos or voting. People simply entered any photo that made them stop and stare. The prizes: a trip to Peru from Intrepid Travel, a hotel voucher worth $200 from Hotel Club or a Travel Guide Video Series from Career Break Secrets.

Travel Gift Giving – my top picks.
Tis the season for gift giving. Here are some of my top travel gift picks.

Please keep in mind that I take Reader Requests.
If you’d like a specific topic on how to travel alone covered or you would like information on a certain destination, send me an email at info@solotravelerblog.com. If I don’t have the information you need, I can generally find a travel blogger who does. I try to publish request posts within a few weeks. So far I’ve published posts on Japan, the Philippines and Ibiza. Coming up: the Easter Islands.
