Solo Traveler: August’s Fave Five

five-hand-image

I always find it interesting to look back through the stats and see what posts generated the most clicks and comments. According to Google Analytics, traffic here on Solo Traveler increase by 82% in August. That’s  huge jump and it looks like it is primarily due to the eBook that came out mid month. Its popularity certainly suggests to me that there should be another.

The next Free eBook: a collaborative project
The next eBook won’t be written by me. I’ll edit/compile it but the content will come from the readers of Solo Traveler and the Solo Travel Society. Solo travel stories and photo essays are welcome. Watch for editorial guidelines coming soon. I’m looking forward to publishing in October.

And now, to August’s Fave Five

Free eBook – GLAD YOU’RE NOT HERE: a solo travelers manifesto
Fun to write and popular amongst readers, this eBook shares, in no uncertain terms, the many benefits of traveling solo –  an important life experience, not a travel choice of last resort.

Solo Travel with a Disability
Despite only being online for a week, this post came in second as the most popular post on Solo Traveler. This speaks to the importance of this topic and the tight network of support within the community.

A Story of Firsts: Solo Travel in Paris
This tale of my first ever solo travel adeventure – that includes me and a new friend crashing the Paris Opera House – proved very popular.

Solo Travel Safety: 5 Principles
A come back from a previous month, solo travel safety hit the Fave 5 again. Its not surprising given how important this subject is.

Solopreneur – Solo Traveler
This is a travel blog so it was a surprise that this post made the fave five. An even greater surprise was that the other solopreneur post, A Tale of Two Companies, came a very close sixth. These posts will only run on the blog once every other a week. The alternate weeks a solopreneur post will be sent by email. Join the list if you’re interested.
